Because, just like they did in 2016, the Democrats ran (selected) -without a vote in the primary, after they unceremoniously scrubbed Joe Biden from the national ticket- a terrible candidate. Donald Trump has managed to navigate a legal minefield and survive to at least win the electoral college — maybe. We’ll have to wait and see what other trickery the Democrats have in store to prevent him from actually making it to the White House.
Russia has nothing to do with this — they didn’t in 2016, and they don’t now.
Oh, did I mention that 800-lb gorilla in the room? Hunter Biden’s Laptop? And RFK, Jr. giving the full weight and credibility of his name to a convicted felon who may actually become the next President of the United States?
Comedians often make fun of outcomes like this, referring to them in terms of “Banana Republics”, a name coined to characterize a poor country in Central America after this country led a military campaign against it at the behest of United Fruit Company or um…Chiquita Banana.
Will Trump make good on his threat to deport 11 million undocumented residents of this country? Or continue his nonsense about a wall that Mexico never paid for? Or the non-crisis on the border? Or that he’s going to scuttle Social Security and Medicare? Did I mention that he and the lame congress that may now have one or two more members on the red side of the aisle can’t do that? Why? Because it isn’t their money. Or that he and Mike Johnson are going to scrap the ACA, often referred to as “Obama Care”? Again, he isn’t a king, nor is Mike Johnson and neither of them have a magic wand. That isn’t going to happen.
So what do we have left on the Conservative Wish List that he’s going to accomplish “On Day One”? Bitcoin and blockchain maybe? Nah, not happening.
Maybe stopping all the wars the Democrats started, or ending the genocide in Gaza and greater Palestine? Or maybe making friends *again* with the Russians. These aren’t on the Conservative’s wish list because they (the “Conservatives”) are really just the other side of the same corrupt coin as the Democrats. These just happen to be some things Trump has mentioned in passing.
This whole thing is a farce. And we have the balls to stand in judgement of other countries’ elections, like say Venezuela, who has the most honest and transparent elections of any country in the world.
Or maybe this “election” is just a reflection of what this country really is, a country that has lost all credibility and is a worldwide laughingstock. A convicted felon will now be the next president.
They’re still counting, and Kamala Harris has 224 electoral votes and Donald Trump 267. He needs 270 to win and, thus, will be “elected” as the next president — let’s see what happens next.
